My impression was that he might have been dragged here by his girlfriend. He will never come back again - I thought. He will write this evening off as ‘I tried origami, no thank you!’
That’s ok, it’s not for everyone.
What I didn’t see was that he was carefully stashing his paper flower petals on the chair next to him that was hidden by my sight to protect them from the damaging effect of the condensation on his glass. There they were - a least 10-15 colourful petals, their fibres were safe from moisture, patiently waiting to be formed into a flower when the time was right. One petal at a time, giving the impression he was stuck on the same one.
Quiet persistence and an origami practitioner has been born.
Along with many others. We had a fascinating combination of quiet crafters and boisterous craftsmen yesterday - just as I like it.
